Glorious beaches comprising swaying palms, rising and falling surf over the sand and overall beautiful environs dot the Indian coastline. They certainly assure a perfect getaway to stillness. Some of the best beaches are:

Kovalam beach, Kerala:
Kovalam is a heaven for tourists across the world and consists of two palm fringed coves, the lighthouse beach and the Hawah beach. Stony, sandy and a peaceful bay of blue waters, Kovalam is mostly popular for its magical ambience. You can spend time lying by the clean, warm and white sand bed and gazing the sea as the breeze quietly plays with the waves.

The Calangute beach, Goa:
Spread well more than four mile where palm trees stand parallel to the sea, the lovely Calangute Beach was a little fishing village before. Placed within a drive of 45 minutes from Panjim, this beach is a perfect place for relaxing as well as adventure water sports such as windsurfing, parasailing and water skiing. Music is essential to the beach and exotic sea food is all over the place on sale.

Marina Beach, Tamil Nadu:
Marina is one of the beautiful and breathtaking beaches in India. Located on the eastern side of Chennai, it is famous for amazing array of beach activities. It is one of the longest beaches in the globe and best place to spend an evening in the city. A walk along the beach surrounded with a lush green lawn attracts one to go on a leisurely walk.

Beaches of Karwar, Karnataka:
Karnataka has a huge coastline, in a row similar to the towering Western Ghats. Its coastline is scattered with many virgin beaches and seafront temples. And this is maybe the major magnetism of beaches in Karwar.

An annual pilgrimage tour for Hindus, Amarnath Yatra 2013 is a holy shrine organized by the Indian Government in the month of May to August for devotees to visit the Amarnath Temple. The temple is dedicated to Lord Shiva and situated in the northern part of Jammu and Kashmir. Situated at a height of 3,888m above the ground, this holy shrine is covered by snow throughout the year. It is only in summer, the snow starts melting from the rocks, an ice stalagmite form inside the cave which is considered to be “Shivling”.

Importance of Amarnath Yatra

This holy cave has interesting history and according to the holy books, Lord Shiva explained about the divine life to his wife Parvati. A popular fact is also attached with it that Lord Shiva told Parvati that whoever will listen the secret of divine life will live longer and never die. But in the middle of the story, Parvati fall asleep and a couple of pigeons witnessed the entire story. It is said that pigeons are still alive and getting chance to see them is a good indication.

How to arrive at?

This holy shrine is falls in Jammu and Kashmir and shares a close distance from the Srinagar. If you are planning a tour to this pilgrimage spot in this year then opting Amarnath Yatra 2013 is great idea in advance. Just like every year, this 45 day Yatra starts with the Hindu holy month of Shraavana. You have to reach the state Jammu & Kashmir first and from there you have to catch a bus, train and plane to reach Srinagar. The actual pilgrimage begins from Pahalgam or Srinagar from where devotees travel on foot and the usual journey takes about 5 days to finish.

Being very kind, Lord Shiva blesses his pilgrims and accomplishes their wishes. Start your Amarnath Yatra 2013, chanting this holy mantra, “Har Har Mahadev”. God bless you!!
