Amarnath yatra 2013

 An annual pilgrimage tour for Hindus, Amarnath Yatra 2013 is a holy shrine organized by the Indian Government in the month of May to August for devotees to visit the Amarnath Temple. The temple is dedicated to Lord Shiva and situated in the northern part of Jammu and Kashmir. Situated at a height of 3,888m above the ground, this holy shrine is covered by snow throughout the year. It is only in summer, the snow starts melting from the rocks, an ice stalagmite form inside the cave which is considered to be “Shivling”.

This holy cave has interesting history and according to the holy books, Lord Shiva explained about the divine life to his wife Parvati.
